Let’s say you’d rather not wear “threads” woven at someone else’s expense. And maybe you’d like to support companies concerned with their “footprint.” And sensitive to the needs of their own employees and customers. As a consumer it’s your choice- let’s call it the power of the purse. So…
When we think about it, does it sound uplifting to support independent businesses that pride themselves on their craft? And the well-being of employees, their customers and our planet?
So often companies come and go (especially these days!). So where can you go to find clothing and accessories that you want to wear and you feel proud supporting? Well, here’s a few sources/recommendations for organizations helping us put our best feet- (and more) forwards:

It’s not always easy to do your homework to find a responsible source. Because it’s not just the materials and labor involved, but also the impact on our communities and the world-at-large. Even then, for those on a tight budget, consider checking out discounters. Some feature overstocked/out-of-season/ overrun items. Often the original packaging has also been reduced. (Just be aware of the labor/track record of any chains you visit).
